November
TALK BY YORKSHIRE AIR AMBULANCE SERVICE
Michelle from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service gave a PowerPoint presentation and talked about the role of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service, how it's funded, how much it costs per day to keep the 2 helicopters operational and the area covered. It's amazing to learn that the service is an independent charity that relies heavily on the generosity of the public and organisation to keep the service active.
December
Our December meeting saw us doing three activities at the pub: a Christmas-themed quiz in teams, making Christmas angels for the tree, and soup and pate tasting with scoring. 4 homemade soups, 2 shop bought ones, 3 homemade pates and 5 shop bought ones. Ann won both categories with her yummy spiced parsnip soup and butterbean and sun-dried tomato pate. Well done Ann! It was a fun and festive evening.
